Zenith Model 8-S-463, 1940.  With the 1940 Zenith consoles came the introduction of the built-in Rotor Wavemagnet antenna. This 8-tube set receives American and foreign broadcasts and includes the following features:  Automatic Tuning, Big Black Dial, Outer Circle R.F. Circuit (Zenith claimed ten times greater sensitivity with this new feature), Television Sound Connection (in the 1940 model year brochure Zenith touts "your 1945 radio here now"-which means you can buy Zenith for the future with confidence.  When television comes...you will be ready for it!) and a 10-inch speaker. This set is featured in a scene in the movie "Pee Wee's Big Adventure."  The 8-S-463 sold for $69.95.
