Zenith
Model 7-S-363, 1939. This 7-tube set is a
fairly common find. I imagine that Zenith sold a ton of
these radios because of its good-looking genuine walnut
cabinet design and reasonable price. With
the 1939 models came the first Zenith sets to use
pushbuttons for tone control and station presets. Its features
also include Transcontinental Automatic Tip
Touch Tuning, tuning eye and 10-inch speaker.
Unfortunately, in 1939 Zenith cheapened the look of
some of their radios with plastic knobs (that have warped on
many sets) and ugly plastic pointers!
Retail price: $69.95
