Stromberg-Carlson
Model 240-R, 1938. This
fabulously elegant half round console utilizes 11 tubes
including an eye tube. It tunes from 530kc-18mc and it’s
decorated with a handsome embossed metal escutcheon. This
multi-band set, a 1938 model was introduced in 1937 and
sold for $215. I looked for a 240-R for sometime since my grandfather's family
actually had this model in their home.
